we believe in the power of PLAY, PARENTS and PEERS.
At KidsConnecting, we pride ourselves on providing a personalized and intimate experience for young autistic children. Our clinic has a relaxed, homelike feel, creating a comfortable and supportive environment for everyone involved.
Young children learn, play, and develop best alongside peers. We offer groups for children two to eight years old - carefully curated to ensure that the participants are a good match and can have fun and grow together.
Our sessions feel more like play than therapy. Our bright, well-equipped clinic is filled with engaging and developmentally-appropriate toys and activities. Children are welcome to chose the activities that are most fun and engaging to them. Trampoline, sand table, trains, dolls, puzzles and books are just some of the toys that are available for us to play with.
By attending your child’s sessions, you can observe, learn, and practice the skills that help your child reach their potential. Grandparents, caregivers, and siblings are also welcome to participate. We are here to answer your questions and empower you to make the most of all your interactions with your child.
Life is hectic - I get it! At KidsConnecting, there are no minimum time requirements or long-term commitments. Most children received individual therapy and parent coaching once or twice a week, along with a weekly group of 1.5 - 2 hours.
Over the years, I’ve built a trusted network of developmental pediatricians, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, educators, social workers, and psychologists. This multi-disciplinary team is available for consultation and additional support whenever needed.
I’ve seen first-hand the powerful impact of early intervention. If you have concerns about your child’s development or notice “red flags,” there’s no need to wait for a formal diagnosis before starting support. I take your concerns seriously and will start to work with you right away - regardless of whether your child has a formal diagnosis or not.
Kids Connecting - Our Model of Care
Our Model of Care Cont'd
Unlike larger clinics, you will work directly with our Founder and Clinical Director, Stacey Baskind, ensuring that you receive the highest quality care. Additionally, all our clinicians are highly qualified so you can trust that your child is receiving top-notch therapy from experts in the field.
Autistic and neurodiverse children learn through play with a responsive, engaging and trusted adult. Therapy at KidsConnecting looks and feels more like play than therapy. Our centre is full of fun, developmentally appropriate toys and activities that we use to engage and teach your child.
We believe that parents play an important role in their child’s therapy, which is why we welcome and encourage your involvement throughout the process. Parent coaching is an essential part of your child’s therapy journey. Stacey Baskind will work directly with you and other important people in your child’s life (grandparent, baby sitters, older sibling) to ensure that you all feel confident in using effective strategies to engage and interact with your autistic child.
Group learning is an essential part of our comprehensive clinical offerings. We have groups for autistic/neurodiverse children between two and eight years old. Groups are created to serve our clients, with some groups running on an on-going basis and others running in eight-week blocks. Our groups are kept small, with a maximum of four children, to ensure each child receives the attention and support they deserve. Our groups are co-facilitated by a teacher and a behaviour therapist, providing a well-rounded and comprehensive approach to therapy.
We understand that everyone’s schedule is different, so we offer flexible options that won’t require a huge time commitment. Most of our clients receive 1-4 hours of individual therapy and/or parent coaching, and a two-hour group each week.
At KidsConnecting, we know that autistic kids learn best when they feel happy, safe, respected and connected!
